Remote-area delivery surcharge

Why shipping to some islands and remote postcodes costs more, and where the surcharge appears on your order.

Shipping on your Everspring order may cost more when the delivery postcode is on an island or in another remote area. Carriers often charge extra for these destinations. Everspring sets one surcharge for each listed area, regardless of carrier.

Surcharge areas, postcodes and rates

Last updated: 1 October 2026. These are Everspring's current surcharges per parcel, excluding VAT. The destination country and postcode must both match. A short range such as 90–98 means all postcodes starting with 90 through 98; a full postcode or range covers only those codes. The amount shown on an existing order reflects the rate used when that order was priced.

  • NL · Wadden Islands: €8.00 per parcel. Postcodes: 1791–1797, 8881–8899, 9161–9164, 9166.
  • DE · German North Sea islands, Halligen and Neuwerk: €13.00 per parcel. Postcodes: 25849, 25859, 25863, 25869, 25938, 25946, 25980, 25992, 25996–25997, 25999, 26465, 26474, 26486, 26548, 26571, 26579, 26757, 27499.
  • DE · Heligoland: €24.50 per parcel. Postcodes: 27498.
  • DE · Hiddensee and the Chiemsee islands: €13.00 per parcel. Postcodes: 18565, 83256.

  • PT · Madeira, Porto Santo and the Azores: €47.50 per parcel. Postcodes: 9.

When the surcharge applies

We check the delivery country and postcode when pricing the order. Examples of surcharge areas include the Dutch Wadden Islands, Corsica, Sicily, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Madeira and the Azores. A surcharge applies only to the listed postcodes. Delivery also depends on whether the supplier ships to that country.

How the amount is calculated

The surcharge is charged per parcel. If an order needs two parcels, the area's amount applies twice. The amount is already included in Shipping in the order's price overview. It is shown there for clarity, but it is not added to the total a second time. The price overview shows amounts before VAT and lists the applicable VAT below.

Your webshop checkout

This is a cost on your order with Everspring. You decide whether and how to charge your own customer for delivery to remote areas. Everspring cannot see what your customer paid for shipping, so your webshop's shipping rules do not change the Everspring surcharge.

Check an order

Open the order and look below Shipping in the price overview. When a remote-area surcharge applies, the note shows the area and the amount included in shipping. An order without that note has no remote-area surcharge.
