Sell greeting cards

Let your customer add a personalised greeting card at checkout — printed and packed by the supplier, no extra work on your side.

A plant with a handwritten note is a nicer gift than a plant in a box. The Everspring greeting card module lets your customer add a personal message at checkout — the supplier prints it and tucks it into the parcel. You don't touch anything.

What your customer sees

On the product page a small box appears with the option to add a greeting card. Clicking it opens a text field where the customer types their message. In the cart, the greeting card shows up as a line item so they know it's been added.

Video walkthrough (2 min):

1. Add the greeting card block to your theme

  1. In your Shopify back end go to Online Store > Themes and click Edit theme.

  2. Open the Product page.

  3. On the right side of the editor, click the spot where you want the module to live.

  4. In the left panel, click Add blockAppsGreeting card message.

  5. Drag it above the buy buttons — that's the placement that converts best.

  6. Hit Save in the top right.

2. Tag the products you want to offer a card with

  1. Go to Products and open a product.

  2. Scroll to Product organizationTags.

  3. Type greeting card and press Enter to add the tag.

  4. Click Save.

Repeat for every product where you want to offer a greeting card.

For the module to appear on a Shopify product, all of these have to be true: vendor is Everspring, the product has the greeting card tag, the supplier supports greeting cards, the product is in stock, and the product type allows greeting cards. Your theme also needs to support the block.

Good to know

  • Greeting cards only work on orders where all products ship from the same supplier.

  • The message is printed in the language your customer used at checkout.

  • Messages are scanned for clearly abusive content before printing; everything else is printed as submitted.

  • Claims for unreadable or mis-printed cards are handled the same way as any other claim.
