Tutorial: Product Feed Comparison Tool
Stay up to date with product data changes by uploading two CSV files and getting a clear summary of what has changed in height or pot size.
Want to stay informed about product changes from your suppliers?
Sometimes suppliers make changes to product details, such as height or pot size, without prior notice. For example, a plant listed as 140 cm last week may now be 160 cm.
With this tool, you can quickly compare two product feed files and instantly see what has changed, without manually checking spreadsheets.
What does this tool do?
The Everspring Product Changes GPT compares two CSV files containing product data and shows you:
-
Only the products where height or pot size has changed
-
Exactly which field changed
-
The old and new values side by side
This tool is not meant for Shopify imports, it’s purely for internal review and clarity. Watch the tutorial video, we walk you through each step in the video. Prefer reading? Follow the steps below.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Export your current product feed
Download today’s product feed from your catalog system as a CSV file.
2. Locate last week’s product feed
Use the CSV export from the previous week or any earlier saved version you want to compare with.
Note: Both files must include these columns:
- id
- size_height_in_cm
- growing_pot_diameter_in_cm.
3. Open the Everspring GPT
4. Upload both CSV files
Drag and drop both product feeds into the chat window. The GPT will then ask you which file is the most recent.
5. Review the change summary
The GPT will show you:
-
Which product IDs have changed
-
Which fields were updated
-
What the old and new values are
Example output:
- 3 changes detected:
- ID 1044: pot size changed from 14 → 17
- ID 1221: height changed from 150 → 160
6. Take action based on the results
Use the summary to update product information on your WooCommerce or Shopify store.
