Steps to follow

Use these steps to create variants for an existing product.

  1. Go to your WooCommerce dashboard.
    Open Products and click the product you want to create variants for.

  2. Change the product type.
    In the Product data section, switch Simple product to Variable product.

  3. Open the Attributes tab.
    Enter an attribute name, such as size or color.

  4. Add the attribute options.
    Enter the values separated by dashes, for example: 15 cm – 20 cm – 30 cm.

  5. Enable variations for the attribute.
    Check Used for variations and click Save attributes.

  6. Generate the variations.
    Go to the Variations tab and click Generate variations.

  7. Confirm the popup message.
    Click OK to create the variations automatically.

  8. Edit the variations.
    Open each variation and enter the correct SKU if needed.

  9. Save the variation changes.
    Click Save changes after adding the SKUs.

  10. Remove separate products if applicable.
    Delete products that are now used as variants.

  11. Set prices for each variation.
    Variations without a price will not appear in your webshop.

  12. Save and review the product.
    Open the product page and check the variant options.
